This Privacy Policy (Policy) applies to the Users of Vaidik Anusandhan Guthi Corporation (hereinafter the ‘Company’, ‘VAG’, ‘We’, or ‘Us’), a public trust registered with the Land Revenue Office, Dilli Bazar, Kathmandu under Article 318 (1) of the Civil Code, 2074 BS. The Company has its own Statute of Incorporation.
This Policy covers the services (hereinafter the ‘Services’ or ‘VAG Services’) provided to our customers and merchants (Users) through our mobile applications (including the ‘VAG App’ and the ‘Dharmakarma App’) and websites (including vag.org.np and dharmakarman.org) (together referred to as the ‘Platform’). Please also see the Terms and Conditions of VAG, which may contain additional terms regarding privacy and our use of information about you.
Unless otherwise indicated or the context requires otherwise, references to “you” or “your” are intended to refer to a User, and references to “VAG”, “we”, “us”, or “our” in this Policy include Vaidik Anusandhan Guthi Corporation (the Company) and its Affiliates and Subsidiary Companies (such as Dharmakarman).
By registering with VAG or Dharmakarman, creating a User Account, and availing our Services, Users are required to accept this Privacy Policy—along with all other relevant VAG Terms and any amendments thereto—by clicking the in-app acceptance button. Such online acceptance constitutes a legally binding agreement between the Company and the User.
The User explicitly and unambiguously consents to the collection, storage, use, and transfer, in electronic or other forms, of their personal information as collected during the Registration Process or at any subsequent stages of the Service for the exclusive purpose of the smooth completion of the Services required.
In connection with the collection, storage, transfer, and use of personally identifiable information, the Company complies with all applicable data privacy laws in Nepal. The Company has commercially reasonable physical, technical, organizational, and administrative security measures and policies in place to protect all personal information from unauthorized access, use, and/or disclosure.
We collect and use personal information from and about you, including when you interact with us, register for or open a User Account, request a service, conduct financial transactions, or otherwise visit or use our Services. The personal information we collect includes:
Registration Information: Basic personal details including first and last name, date of birth, gender, National ID (NID), physical address/location, phone number, email, and other registration details that permit us to validate customers and contact you.
Financial Information: Bank or wallet account details, billing and delivery information, transaction data, credit/debit card numbers and cardholder names, expiration dates, and bank statements.
Payment Transaction Details: Name, account number, contact information, and/or other information relating to you or the recipient of a payment, remittance, or fund transfer.
Spiritual & Ritual Data: Any specific information you disclose for the purposes of astrological predictions, pujas, or rituals provided through the Dharmakarma app.
Automatically Collected Information:When you interact with our service, we collect log files, IP addresses, and use cookies for analytics and site optimization. This helps us understand user demographics and improve our services.
Technical & Usage Information: Information obtained from the device you use to interact with us, including IP address, geographical location, device identification codes, log files, browser/platform type and version, operating system, referral/exit pages, length of visit/usage, page views, and search terms.
Cookies: Small files sent to your computer or device to uniquely identify your browser. We use cookies for analytics and site optimization to help us understand user demographics and improve our services. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies, though some VAG and Dharmakarman features may be disabled as a result.
Do Not Track Your browser setting may allow you to automatically transmit a "Do Not Track" signal to websites you visit. The Company’s Website does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals or other mechanisms from a visitor's browser. If, in the future, we create a program or protocol to respond to such web browser "Do Not Track" signals, we will inform you of the details of that protocol in this Privacy Policy. Open ID Providers You may log into your account on our Website and/or access our Services using sign-in services such as Facebook or any other Open ID provider. These services will authenticate your identity and provide you the option to share certain Personal Information with us, such as your name and email address to pre-populate our registration form. Providers give you the option to post information about your activities on this Website to your profile page to share with others within your network if you so choose.
Phone Numbers and emails you provide and consent to collect as part of the SMS opt-in process will not be shared with any third party or affiliate company for marketing purposes. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
We collect personal information about you in connection with the VAG Services. For example, when you browse our websites, register as a User, log into your User Account, participate in promotional events, or communicate with us by phone, e-mail, or web chat.
We also receive personal information about you from other sources, including:
VAG Affiliates, subsidiary companies (like Dharmakarman), and third-party suppliers or merchants providing services on our behalf.
Merchants from which you buy goods or services using VAG Services.

We use the information we collect to operate our business and provide VAG and Dharmakarma Services for the following purposes:
Validation & Operation: Verifying your identity during account creation, payment processing, or password resets, and managing your registration as a User.
Service Delivery: Operating VAG Services, enabling transactions, customizing your experience, and responding to queries or disputes.
Notifications & Updates: Tracking customer details to send notifications about new platform updates, new books available on Dharmakarma, and promotional materials.
Strict Confidentiality of Predictions: We strictly ensure that members' identities, emails, mobile numbers, addresses, genders, and birth details remain confidential. We commit not to utilize any member's disclosed information from their predictions for any other purposes.
Risk Management & Compliance: Performing solvency checks, detecting, investigating, or preventing fraud, data breaches, and illegal activities. Making disclosures required by law, regulation, government bodies, or court orders.
Improvement: Conducting research and analysis to improve, optimize, and expand the functions of our Services.
We do not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to third parties. We are committed to not selling or renting your personal information to outside companies for undue gains. If you make a purchase, we may share required portions of your data with the retailer to identify the transaction, but we will not share your full information without opt-in consent, except in the limited circumstances below.
We may share your personal information to operate our business with:
Affiliate Entities: Companies providing services on our behalf (such as Dharmakarman).
Third-Party Service Providers: Agents or contractors we work with, such as Puja Samagri Shops, delivery logistics, marketing, technology support, and payment settlement services.
Financial Partners: Banks, payment networks, and acquiring institutions involved in processing financial transactions.
Legal Authorities / Business Transfers: Law enforcement agencies, government bodies, or in cases of corporate business transfers, mergers, or acquisitions where disclosure is required.
Retention: We keep your personal information for as long as necessary to provide Services. We may retain data for longer periods (in some cases, up to 6 years after Account closure, or a minimum of 12 years where required by law).
Security Measures: We use physical, technical, and organizational security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, consistent with legal and security guidelines. Your banking information is always stored in an encrypted form.
User Responsibility: Members can access and update their profiles as needed. The security of your account depends on keeping your password/PIN confidential. Do not save login info on shared devices.
Submitting a Request: Users can opt for Account and Data deletion by emailing [email protected] We will delete the data except where necessary for safety, security, fraud prevention, or legal storage requirements.
Subject Line: Please use the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
Account Details: In the body of the email, include the Name, Email Address, and/or Phone Number associated with your Dharmakarman account so we can verify your identity.
Processing: Once we receive your request, our team will process it and permanently delete your account, profile details, and any associated personal data from our active databases.
Recovery Window: Users may recover their accounts by logging in with previous credentials within 30 days of the deletion request. After 30 days, re-registration is required.
Conditions: Deletion requests will not be accepted if there are outstanding dues owed to VAG or if a service order is currently active.
We may provide links to Affiliates, Subsidiary companies, or other websites/apps for your convenience. These operate independently and have their own privacy policies. Our website may contain links to other sites. VAG and Dharmakarman are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external websites.
We use your personal information based on the following:
For the performance of VAG Terms and Conditions or contracts you are a party to.
To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
For legitimate business purposes (operating effectively, making communications relevant, and minimizing disruption). We only proceed with legitimate business purposes when we are confident your rights to privacy and freedom of use are secured.
